DESCRIPTION:
The maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of a facility’s mechanical and production equipment. This role requires a versatile skill set to handle various maintenance tasks, ensuring the facility remains safe, functional and efficient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Basic understanding and working with mechanical and electrical and plumbing systems.
Focuses on routine maintenance tasks and repairs on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
Effectively communicating with team members, and possibly vendors or contractors.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Install and repair piping systems for water, air, and fluid transfer, including pumps, blowers, and associated equipment.
Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery.
Conduct routing inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to resolve issues to avoid breakdowns or equipment failures that could impact production output.
Collaborate closely with other maintenance staff and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality installations and equipment performance.
Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma, GED equivalent.
1 – 3 years maintenance experience.
Basic reading, writing, and math.
Basic working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, hydraulics and refurbishing.
Self-directed, well organized, and motivated.
High attention to detail.
Computer proficiency (Excel, Word).
Must be reliable and have excellent attendance.
Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, electrical systems, hydraulic systems pluming and basic tools and mechanical systems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix issues efficiently and independently.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and facility associates.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
Standing for extended periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or bending to the floor; use hands to finger, handle or feel parts and materials; reach with hands and arms and overhead; and talk and/or hear instructions and equipment sounds.
Occasionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify coating defects.
Near acuity or accommodation required for reading instrumentation and documentation, dial and digital gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of coating operations.
Ability to handle delicate parts.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns.
Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
High noise levels from operating machines.
The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit).
