About Lucid
At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our “Compromise Nothing™” approach to the global automotive market. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. In Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, we have designed and built vehicles that have redefined their segments, combining exceptional range, performance, design, and expansive space in a single experience.
We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production happening in-house across our global offices and manufacturing facilities. Our teams come from industries around the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence. By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.
About the Team
The General Assembly Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team enables Lucid to launch safe, efficient, production-ready assembly processes at scale. The team partners across Product Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to translate vehicle requirements into capable manufacturing equipment and tooling. This group is unique in its end-to-end ownership of equipment strategy, supplier execution, validation, installation, commissioning, and operational handoff, giving team members direct visibility into how engineering decisions affect quality, throughput, safety, and launch readiness.
About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer II is an individual contributor role within General Assembly Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and reports to a Manufacturing Engineering leader. This role exists to support Lucid’s growth by strengthening equipment procurement, integration, validation, and launch readiness for General Assembly programs. In the first 12 months, this person will own assigned equipment and tooling projects from scope development through validated production handoff, with success measured by safe installation, capable processes, clear documentation, on-time issue closure, and readiness for Operations ownership. A strong candidate will gain hands-on accountability across the full manufacturing equipment lifecycle, including supplier technical alignment, factory and site acceptance, launch troubleshooting, and lessons learned that directly shape future high-volume EV production systems.
What You Own
Equipment Strategy: Define equipment and tooling scopes, technical specifications, and RFQ packages that align safety, quality, cycle time, throughput, maintainability, timing, and cost requirements before supplier award.
Supplier Alignment: Evaluate supplier proposals, lead technical clarification, and partner with Purchasing to support supplier selection, purchase-order execution, commercial alignment, and on-time delivery.
Project Execution: Lead assigned equipment projects from design approval through build, Factory Acceptance Testing, shipment, installation, commissioning, ramp-up, and final acceptance.
Launch Readiness: Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, open-issue lists, recovery plans, and escalation paths to keep equipment launches on track.
Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate Product Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, and supplier partners to resolve technical and launch issues with clear ownership and timely decisions.
Process Validation: Define and confirm acceptance criteria for safety, ergonomics, quality, cycle time, throughput, maintainability, and specification compliance before handoff to Operations.
Operational Handoff: Deliver validated equipment, process documentation, training inputs, spare-parts requirements, open-item closure plans, and lessons learned that improve future launch execution.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
6 years of manufacturing engineering experience in assembly operations, equipment integration, production launch, or a related manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of assembly processes, tooling, automation, equipment integration, and production-launch execution.
Experience preparing technical documentation or RFQ inputs and supporting design reviews, acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, or operational handoff.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive General Assembly, electric vehicle, or new-product-introduction experience.
Experience with CATIA or similar CAD tools, 3DEXPERIENCE, MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, control plans, GD&T, equipment safety, ergonomics, maintainability, or production quality requirements.
Physical Requirements
Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a production environment.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, reviewing equipment, and supporting assembly or commissioning activities.
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs. as needed; heavier lifts may require assistance.
Reaching and Bending: Ability to reach, bend, twist, and squat while supporting equipment installation, validation, and production-floor activities.
PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE, which may include safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye protection, and hearing protection, based on area requirements.
