Supervises the operations and personnel of the Central Sterile Supply department to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality patient care. Manages instrument inventory, workflow, and staff competencies while coordinating with medical center departments to meet surgical and clinical needs.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, four years of related work experience, and one year of supervisory experience. Candidates must hold a CRCST or CBSPD certification and possess or be able to obtain CIS/CER and CHL certifications within six months.
Supervises the operations and personnel of Central Sterile Supply. Maintains departmental compliance with regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission and Department of Health. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Medical Center in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. The care of the instrumentation used in the operating room, clinic, emergency department and elsewhere in the institution is the responsibility of the Sterile Processing department.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
