Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 2 for our TACAMO program. This leadership role will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Serve in a dual role as Functional Homeroom Quality Engineering Manager for the TACAMO QE/QA team and as a program quality lead.
Partner with Functional Homeroom and Program Quality leadership to:
Understand and prioritize program needs and requirements
Translate needs into clear quality objectives, resource plans, and actions
Ensure timely, efficient execution and regularly communicate status, risks, and mitigations
Lead professional development for Quality Engineering team members by:
Defining growth plans and identifying training/certification opportunities
Providing mentoring, coaching, and on-the-job training
Promoting a learning culture, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and career progression
Plan and provide mission assurance resources (people/skills, tools, services, processes) to:
Represent quality engineering and analyst disciplines effectively
Proactively align staffing and capabilities with program demands
Create an inclusive, high‑performance work environment by:
Connecting team efforts to company, sector, and program goals
Fostering mutual respect, trust, and open communication
Leveraging diverse perspectives and encouraging collaboration, empowerment, and accountability
Demonstrate agility in responding to changing business needs by:
Communicating effectively across cross‑functional teams
Enabling team members to contribute their expertise
Prepare, analyze, and present data‑driven briefings to senior company and customer (USG/DCMA) leadership on quality issues, trends, risks, and performance, and provide recommendations to support decisions.
Drive effective Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) by:
Defining objectives, engaging stakeholders, and driving implementation of new processes and tools
Ensure Quality/Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering processes:
Align with applicable industry, regulatory, and customer standards (e.g., PrOP, AS9100, ISO9001, 8210.1C)
Are maintained, executed, and monitored through audits and assessments
Support program planning and execution by:
Developing and tailoring quality processes, metrics, and tools for each program phase
Ensuring alignment with customer and contractual requirements
Proactively assessing quality trends/risks and integrating mitigation into plans and daily execution
Deliver robust Quality Management System audit capabilities, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow‑up to:
Identify and document deficiencies
Drive timely corrective and preventive actions
Participate in budget development, pricing/estimating, and cost performance to support Earned Value Management (EVM) targets; obtain CAM certification to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance for assigned control accounts.
Manage hiring and onboarding by:
Defining clear role requirements
Partnering with stakeholders to select candidates aligned to team and program needs
Basic Qualifications:
• STEM degree: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience, Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or PhD degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience) with experience in Aircraft, Aerospace or Manufacturing Industries in a Quality Environment.
• 5 or more years of Leadership/Supervisory experience.
• Experience with Engineering, Manufacturing, Change Management and Program Integration.
• Quality Assurance leadership experience with enforcement of AS9100 standards.
• Fluent in process improvement (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis).
• Ability to navigate, perform and train nonconforming material processes per AS9102.
• Must have the ability to work flexible shift schedules, to include weekend shifts when needed.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain DOD Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
• High-level understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, governmental regulations and workflow.
• Ability to analyze alternative courses of action where decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence.
• Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background.
• Control Account Manager (CAM) certification or equivalent.
• Fluent in execution of manufacturing information systems.
• Current access to special access programs.
• Proven track record in mentoring, skills development, and driving organizational change with measurable business results
Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with quality operations, program leadership (Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management), and customers

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
