Full job description
SEI's Wealth business is seeking a results-oriented Practice Management Consultant to specialize in helping advisory firms achieve sustainable organic growth—and to serve as the dedicated Practice Management Liaison for Stratos Wealth Partners, one of SEI's most important strategic relationships.
This role is both an expert consulting seat and a strategic relationship seat. As a growth-focused consultant, this individual will be an expert on the topics that drive organic growth for advisory firms—including business planning, ideal client persona development, value proposition and messaging, referral strategy, marketing, brand building, and the levers of sustainable, profitable growth. They will deliver consulting, coaching, workshops, tools, and content that help advisors grow their firms with the right clients and the right economics.
As the Practice Management Liaison for Stratos, this individual will be the face of SEI's Practice Management function at Stratos—the trusted, day-to-day point of contact for Stratos advisors, Relationship Managers, and leadership. They will coordinate across SEI's Practice Management team (growth, scale, and transition consultants) to bring the full weight of SEI's advice, tools, and programs to Stratos advisors, and will own how SEI strategically supports Stratos as a partner over time.
This practice management role is tailored for individuals deeply enthusiastic about the independent advisor profession, committed to ongoing learning, and able to leverage their expertise in growth strategy to drive meaningful outcomes within advisory practices. An ideal candidate has a background as a growth-focused consultant, coach, marketing or business development leader within an advisory firm, RIA, custodian, or asset manager—with real experience helping firms grow organically. They are experienced and networked in the wealth management industry and excited to build deep relationships within a large, growing partner firm.
This role is remote and requires up to 25% travel, including regular travel to support Stratos advisors, events, and leadership meetings.
What you will do:
Growth Consulting
Provide expert consultation, coaching, and education to independent advisory practices on growth-focused practice management topics, including business planning, organic growth strategy, ideal client persona development, value proposition and messaging, referral strategy, marketing, and brand building.
Serve as SEI's subject matter expert on organic growth for advisory firms, developing points of view, frameworks, and best practices that advisors can implement.
Conduct business audit reviews and growth assessments of advisory firms and provide actionable, customized recommendations that translate strategy into execution.
Leverage SEI’s growth-focused content including presentations, workshops, and training sessions on organic growth topics for advisors and their teams.
Work in close partnership with fellow Practice Management Consultants across the growth, scale, and transition pillars to deliver holistic, integrated advice to advisors.
Act as a thought leader by contributing articles, webinars, podcasts, and other educational content on organic growth for advisory firms, specifically focuses on Stratos clients but able to represent SEI’s practice management team beyond Stratos to independent BD and RIA advisors.
Stratos Liaison and Partnership
Serve as the dedicated Practice Management Liaison for Stratos Wealth Partners—the primary, day-to-day point of contact for Stratos advisors, Relationship Managers, and leadership on all practice management topics.
Be the face of SEI Practice Management at Stratos, building strong relationships with Stratos leadership and advisors and representing SEI's full suite of practice management capabilities.
Coordinate with SEI's Practice Management team to connect Stratos advisors with the right SEI consultants, tools, programs, and resources to support their ability to grow, scale, and evolve their businesses.
Own the strategy and execution of how SEI strategically supports Stratos as a partner over time—identifying opportunities, aligning resources, and measuring impact.
Serve as the internal voice of Stratos within SEI, ensuring Stratos advisor needs, feedback, and priorities are represented in how Practice Management builds and delivers its offering.
Partner with SEI Advisor Services, Sales, Relationship Management, and Marketing teams to coordinate a seamless, high-quality experience for Stratos advisors.
What we need from you:
A minimum of 5 years of experience helping financial advisors grow their businesses through roles in consulting, coaching, practice management, marketing, business development, or leadership within advisory firms.
Deep expertise in organic growth strategies for advisory firms, including business planning, ideal client persona development, value proposition and messaging, referral strategy, and marketing.
Strong understanding of the independent advisor and RIA landscape and the drivers of sustainable, profitable growth.
Proven track record of driving successful growth outcomes for advisory firms and their staff.
Exceptional relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly with advisors, leadership teams, and internal partners.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present complex topics in a clear, confident, and compelling way.
Experience in multi-channel communication mediums, including individual face-to-face interactions, in-person and virtual one-to-many presentations, live video, recorded video, phone, and email.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate high-level growth strategies into practical, actionable advice and plans.
Highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth minded.
Ability to influence without authority across both SEI and Stratos organizations.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to support Stratos advisors, advisor events, presentations, and relationship management efforts.
What we would like from you:
Prior experience serving as a dedicated relationship manager, liaison, or embedded consultant for a large advisory firm, RIA, or partner organization.
