The Oncology Data Specialist is responsible for abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases and assisting with case identification. They also perform quality control procedures on registry data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
Candidates must have college-level curriculum in cancer data management or equivalent experience and hold a National Oncology Data Specialist certification. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree, anatomy and physiology coursework, and experience with ACoS-approved cancer registries.

Required Qualifications:
College level curriculum in cancer data management or equivalent education/experience
Upon hire: National Oncology Data Specialist - National Cancer Registrars Association
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree
Coursework/Training: Anatomy & Physiology coursework or completing courses
Experience abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases
Experience working in an ACoS approved Cancer Registry
Using Cancer Registry software, such as ONCOLog
