The Patient Access Representative is responsible for registering patients, validating demographic and financial information, and ensuring data integrity within the system. They also handle patient inquiries, manage collections, and maintain strict adherence to regulatory compliance and patient safety protocols.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED. One year of experience in billing, customer service, or patient registration is preferred, and obtaining a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification within one year is desired.
Overview
Responsible for registration of all patient types within their department. Works daily reports and account work queues to ensure the integrity of registration data. The Patient Access representative is responsible for the delivery of critical components of the Revenue Cycle; understanding regulatory compliance, maintaining patient safety through correct patient identification practices, and providing excellent customer service.
