This position provides supervision, consultation, guidance, and assistance to the Crisis Services team, consisting of our crisis outreach and intervention services, co-responder outreach, and crisis stabilization services for Thurston and Mason counties. Responsibilities include interpretation of regulations and guidelines, technical review of all cases and paperwork, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.
The ideal candidate for the Crisis Response Supervisor has strong clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of behavioral health and crisis services. Previous experience providing direct crisis intervention and mental health counseling, especially through crisis or mental health service outreach, is preferred. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills as well as a proven record of building teams, managing through change, and providing a supportive and inclusive environment.
Who are we? Olympic Health and Recovery Services (OHRS) is a cornerstone of our community’s safety net of behavioral health services. We are a quasi-governmental organization and a licensed behavioral health agency providing compassionate care to the most vulnerable populations in our community through crisis services, jail services, hospital diversion, and homeless and housing support services. We pride ourselves in providing a vital behavioral health crisis safety net across our region, providing Regional Crisis Line and 988 Lifeline services throughout a seven-county area that includes Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Grays Harbor, and Cowlitz counties. In Thurston and Mason counties, we also provide Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams and Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) services, ensuring individuals receive timely intervention, support, and connection to the right care when they need it most.
This posting will be used to fill 2 openings.
Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 12pm-8pm or Wednesday-Saturday 12pm-8pm. Scheduled on-call shifts will be required.
The Crisis Response Supervisor may fill open staff shifts as they emerge to provide necessary coverage. This position is classified as FLSA Exempt - Not Overtime Eligible.
Salary Range: $95,964.96 - 125,055.84 per year based on education, experience, and parity within the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of assigned crisis response programs, Embedded Designated Crisis Responders, Crisis Services Clinicians, and Peer Specialists; determine work schedule and assignments to ensure full coverage of regional area and providing after hours and on call assistance for crisis continuum at OHRS Provide technical oversight, case consultation, supervision, trouble shooting and problem resolution which includes development of safety plans and referrals to other services and resources to support an individual’s safety. Interpret procedural guidelines for staff and provide assistance and direction to Embedded Designated Crisis Responders, Crisis Services Clinicians, and Certified Peer Specialists concerning technical work. Train, supervise and evaluate staff performance; provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action for performance issues. Responsible for delivering and maintaining quality crisis training that incorporates best practices in assessing risk, and the delivery of crisis intervention and stabilization services to all populations. Tracks program metrics, prepares required reports and maintains accurate operational reports Review cases and paperwork for proper documentation, appropriate decision making and quality of work; conduct quality assurance reviews; develop service protocols. Monitor service delivery and documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory, contractual and accreditation standards. Serves as an escalation point for critical incidents, supporting staff in real time problem solving, safety management. Provides support to other agency clinicians in the form of consultation and assistance with joint outreach. Provides direct crisis services as required and assists staff in escalated cases. Supports the operationalization of a schedule that ensures adequate 24/7/365 coverage for crisis services. May provide coverage for vacant shifts that require supervisor coverage. Assists with audits and reviews including preparation as requested. May be required to respond to referrals as a Crisis Clinician. May be required to work with elected officials, OHRS leadership, and other stakeholders as appropriate. May act as liaison with law enforcement agencies. Demonstrate the OHRS mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders Keeps Crisis Response Manager, Clinical Director, and Management Team informed of pertinent matters on a regular basis.

QualificationsEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Master’s Degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences. Meets WA state qualifications to be a Mental Health Professional. Licensed by the WA Department of Health as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or BSN/RN, or as a Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor. Qualifies as a Designated Crisis Responder. At least two years of experience in direct treatment of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons. Three (3) or more years professional, administrative, and/or supervisory experience providing services to individuals with Behavioral Health or Substance Use Disorders. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the essential job functions may be considered. Experience with crisis intervention, including risk assessments. Ability to utilize a personal computer with applicable software to successfully perform essential job functions of the position including word processing, spread sheet, electronic health record systems, analysis, information retrieval, and tracking. Valid WA State Driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record required. Must pass criminal background clearances and excluded party sanctions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily works in an office environment and community based settings which may including jails, inpatient facilities, residential facilities, individual’s homes, sanctioned and non-sanctioned camps, and shelters. May be responsible for office coverage in Thurston county and Lewis county office. This position will expose you to conversations about suicide, mental health and substance use issues, domestic violence, and staff responding to crisis situations. This position is part of a team of supervisors supporting the Crisis Services team. Service responsibilities require on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Use of fleet vehicles and/or personal vehicle required for service in the regional service area. Moderate physical exertion is required. Regular and extended use of computer requiring sitting, standing, typing required. Outreach is performed in indoor and outdoor settings and subject to weather conditions. May be required to sit, stand, squat, walk short to moderate distances on uneven terrain, lift or move up to 25 lbs.
