Inserts cantor tubes, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes per physician order, following proper procedure. Inserts and provides care for IV's. Provides routine care and instruction of SP catheters and surgical drains following physician order. Provides proper care for drains and removal of same.
Removes sutures and skin clips, provides routine ostomy care and irrigates and packs wounds, following physician order, procedure and care plan.
Does accurate CVP reading, according to physician order and following proper procedure. Sets up, instructs and monitors use of PCA.
Obtains doppler pulses following proper procedure. Provides routine care of gastrostomy/jejunostomy tubes according to procedure and physician orders. Assists in heparin therapy protocol per procedures.
Applies basic traction, splints, braces, and CPM machines following procedure and physician order.
Cuts and trims casts, removes wound drains following physician order and procedure.
Maintains total hip and total knee precaution measures and instructs patients.
