Requires a high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver's license with a Class A CDL and Air Brake endorsement. Candidates must have significant experience in road maintenance, including at least 6 years of management or supervisory experience.
The DPS Department Manager 3 (Highway) supervises personnel engaged in highway, street, and road operations in the Wayne County Road Maintenance Division. Through subordinate managers and supervisors, they supervise road crews engaged in asphalt paving, concrete road repairs, replacement of culverts and other road repair and maintenance operations. This position will confer with managers and supervisors regarding work detail, order materials and supplies; allocate personnel and equipment as necessary, check work in progress and upon completion for conformance to standards and specifications; investigate complaints, and other related duties.
