The plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment at County buildings. Work is performed independently using hand and power tools under the general supervision of the Plumber Foreman.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and a valid State of Michigan Plumber’s License. A Plumber Journeyman certification is required, while a Master Plumber license is preferred.

Work is performed independently, under the general supervision of the Plumber Foreman and in accordance with standard trades practice. Work is performed at County buildings and involves the use of hand and power tools and equipment. The plumber may work on equipment above ground level. The working conditions of the jail present a potentially dangerous environment for workers.
