A Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a professional license (PT/PTA) is preferred along with NCCA-accredited fitness certifications. Candidates must be CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding certified and capable of meeting demanding physical requirements.

Responsibilities include providing and directing daily exercise classes which promote physical fitness enhancement through aerobic, strength and water therapy for our residents. Applicant must project a positive, confident attitude. Educational background in Fitness or related field preferred. Be or become CPR certified, have lifeguarding and First Aid. Fitness certification through ACSM, ACE, Senior Fitness Association or related group.

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting for approximately 60% of work day; must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; must be able to push residents weighing up to 250 lbs. in gerichairs and/or wheelchairs; good visual and hearing acuity required; may be exposed to communicable diseases, and blood and bodily fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV; may be exposed to industrial and household chemicals and offensive odors.
