Full job description
About Stoke:
Stoke Therapeutics (Nasdaq: STOK), is a biotechnology company dedicated to restoring protein expression by harnessing the body’s potential with RNA medicine. Using Stoke’s proprietary TANGO (Targeted Augmentation of Nuclear Gene Output) approach, Stoke is developing antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) to selectively restore naturally-occurring protein levels. Stoke’s first medicine in development, zorevunersen, has demonstrated the potential for disease modification in patients with Dravet syndrome and is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 study. Stoke’s initial focus are diseases of the central nervous system and the eye that are caused by a loss of ~50% of normal protein levels (haploinsufficiency). Proof of concept has been demonstrated in other organs, tissues, and systems, supporting broad potential for Stoke’s proprietary approach. Stoke is headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts. Position Purpose:
The Director/Senior Director, Medical Affairs Analytics & Systems will lead the systems, data, and analytics capabilities that enable Medical Affairs to operate efficiently and support timely, data-informed decision-making.
Serving as the primary Medical Affairs partner to IT and Commercial Operations, this individual will translate Medical Affairs needs into clear business requirements, integrated workflows, and scalable technology solutions. They will connect information across Field Medical, Medical Information, Scientific Communications, publications, congresses, advisory boards, and other activities—making it easier to identify patterns, access relevant information, and apply insights to strategic decisions.
This role will own the Medical Affairs systems and analytics roadmap, including platform integration, reporting automation, data governance, adoption, and responsible AI enablement. Success will require technical fluency to work credibly with IT and vendors, combined with a strong understanding of Medical Affairs objectives, workflows, and compliance requirements.
This position will report to the Executive Director, Scientific Communications & Information.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Affairs Ecosystem and Systems
Own and execute the roadmap for an integrated, best-in-class Medical Affairs ecosystem.
Translate Medical Affairs needs into clear requirements, streamlined workflows, and implementation priorities.
Represent Medical Affairs in enterprise systems and data discussions, partnering with IT and Commercial Operations to improve connectivity while reducing fragmentation, duplication, and unnecessary complexity.
Lead the implementation, integration, governance, and optimization of selected Medical Affairs platforms and manage associated vendors.
Maintain accountability for roadmap delivery, including priorities, budgets, timelines, dependencies, risks, vendor performance, and leadership communication.
Drive adoption, training, and continuous improvement, ensuring solutions remain practical, scalable, and aligned with Medical Affairs, compliance, and enterprise requirements.
Analytics and Reporting
Lead the development of Medical Affairs dashboards and reporting capabilities through internal and external partners.
Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to establish meaningful KPIs and reporting frameworks.
Connect data across Medical Affairs activities and establish appropriate standards for data quality, consistency, and access.
Advance scalable analytics capabilities that reduce manual effort, identify trends over time, and support more timely, informed decision-making.
Translate business questions into analytical requirements and ensure outputs are clear, relevant, and decision-ready.
AI Enablement and Innovation
Lead the implementation of AI-enabled capabilities that support Medical Affairs priorities, including medical intelligence, reporting, knowledge retrieval, content management, and field enablement.
Identify opportunities for AI and automation to simplify workflows, improve access to information, and reduce administrative burden.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and ways of working, avoiding additional disconnected tools and processes.
Establish appropriate governance, human oversight, success measures, and adoption plans.
Partner with IT, Legal, Privacy, Regulatory, Compliance, and vendors to implement AI responsibly and effectively.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific, business, technology, or healthcare discipline, or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant biotech/pharma experience, including at least five years focused on Medical Affairs systems, analytics, operations, or digital capabilities
Experience operating in a small, clinical-stage or pre-commercial rare-disease biotechnology company, with the ability to lead strategically while directly driving execution.
Strong understanding of Medical Affairs objectives, workflows, data, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated experience translating Medical Affairs needs into integrated systems and analytics solutions and leading implementation through adoption and optimization
Technical fluency across data integration, analytics, automation, and AI, with the ability to direct vendors and influence IT, Commercial Operations, and senior stakeholders without direct authority
Preferred Skills & Experience
Advanced degree in a relevant scientific, business, technology, or healthcare discipline
Experience building or substantially evolving an integrated Medical Affairs systems and analytics ecosystem
