The Communication Systems Operator manages incoming calls, transfers them appropriately, and coordinates emergency notifications for the facility. They are also responsible for dispatching security calls and maintaining accurate documentation of telecommunications processes.
A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position. One year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
The Communication Systems Operator answers calls in a timely fashion and courteously transfers callers to their requested destination. This position is responsible for calmly announcing and accurately notifying necessary personnel in all internal and external emergencies. The Communication Systems Operator knows the purpose, processes, and procedures for all emergency events. The operator possesses a thorough knowledge of all switchboard and telecommunications control room equipment as well as the ability to problem solve. This position supports the department by demonstrating flexibility in work assignments and supports the facility through teamwork and collaboration.
