The Library is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic trainer to join the team and help deliver a project developing AI Capabilities for UQ staff. This role will contribute to a major initiative to build AI capability across the University, supporting staff to confidently and responsibly adopt AI tools and technologies in their teaching, research, and professional practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
Design and deliver engaging online and face-to-face training programs for UQ staff, students, and Library teams
Support the development of AI and digital capability initiatives across the University
Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and quality measures
Contribute to technology-related projects, including developing supporting documentation
Provide expert support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students
Maintain and enhance IT training and documentation resources on the Library intranet
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) - fixed-term position for up to 3.5 months at HEW Level 6.
You are a confident and adaptable trainer who enjoys helping others build capability in a fast-evolving digital landscape. You thrive on delivering practical, engaging learning experiences and supporting users of all skill levels.
You’ll also bring:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated commitment to delivering responsive, high-quality client service
Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate them into effective training
Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for adult learners
Ability to support a diverse audience, including staff and students with varying technical capability
Understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) university or library systems, policies, and procedures
