The Compliance Officer will assess complaints, conduct site visits, and gather evidence to resolve regulatory issues. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Resource Management Act, Building Act, and council bylaws.
Candidates should have experience in regulatory compliance or investigations and the ability to interpret legislation. A relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as law, science, or construction is preferred.

Auckland Council’s Licensing and Regulatory Compliance department has an opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join the Compliance Response and Investigations team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll assess complaints and requests, gather information, visit sites and determine the appropriate response. You’ll work with customers, businesses, Council teams and external agencies to resolve issues and achieve practical outcomes. The role offers variety, with time spent both in the field and managing cases through to resolution.
