The Asset Manager will provide technical expertise to develop and oversee operational maintenance and renewal programmes for state highway assets. They will interpret complex data and manage traffic counting contracts to ensure optimal asset performance and evidence-based investment decisions.
Candidates must have experience applying asset management principles to transport infrastructure and possess a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Strong analytical skills and an understanding of pavement engineering and field validation are essential for this role.
As Asset Manager, you’ll provide data and technical management expertise to support the development and oversight of operational asset maintenance and renewal programmes for all assets within the state highway corridor. You’ll interpret and analyse data, validate field conditions, and manage the traffic counting contract to ensure optimal asset performance, longevity, and value for money. Your work will directly support evidence-based investment and operational decisions that keep New Zealand’s transport network running smoothly.

Appointment salary is expected to be from $93,00 to $113,000, commensurate with skills and experience
