You'll lead the design, operation, protection, and continuous improvement of our infrastructure platforms.
This role also provides leadership and guidance to a small team within the wider Information Solutions group and partnering closely with Service Delivery, Business Systems, project teams, vendors, risk and privacy specialists, and senior leaders across Council.
What You'll Be Doing

Developing and implementing infrastructure and security strategies that support Council's objectives.
Ensuring infrastructure services remain secure, reliable, available, and well-governed.
Leading cybersecurity initiatives, security controls, and risk management activities.
Managing infrastructure lifecycle planning, upgrades, maintenance, and continuous improvement programmes.
Overseeing business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness.
Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver technology outcomes.
Providing trusted advice and technical guidance to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Supporting project delivery by contributing infrastructure and security expertise.
Monitoring emerging technologies, threats, and industry best practices to inform future direction.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a collaborative leader who combines technical depth with excellent relationship management skills.
You'll ideally have:
Significant experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity leadership roles.
Strong knowledge across enterprise infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, networking, identity management, endpoint management, virtualization, backup, and recovery solutions.
Experience developing and maintaining security controls, frameworks, and risk management practices.
Demonstrated success leading infrastructure operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to customer service excellence.
Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership capabilities.
Relevant industry certifications and experience working within complex enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
