We’re looking for a Transport Infrastructure Compliance Technician to manage vehicle crossing applications and ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and quality standards.
This is a hands-on role combining site work, technical assessment, and customer interaction, ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the field while solving real-world infrastructure challenges.

You’ll manage the end-to-end vehicle crossing process, from application through to compliance certification, ensuring all works meet Council standards, legislation, and industry best practice.
The role is a mix of office-based coordination and predominantly site-based work, working closely with developers, contractors, and internal teams to support safe and efficient outcomes across the transport network.
What you’ll be doing
Application and process management
Process vehicle crossing applications, including vetting designs and coordinating compliance checks
Manage invoicing and documentation accurately and in line with Council requirements
Ensure all required approvals (e.g. Traffic Management Plans and corridor access) are in place
Site assessment and set out
Undertake site set-out for crossings, ensuring compliance with RITS standards
Assess site conditions including grades, visibility, stormwater management, and safety requirements
Ensure work does not compromise existing infrastructure (e.g. footpaths, utilities, street assets)
Inspection and quality assurance
Carry out inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks throughout construction
Ensure work meets Council standards, relevant legislation, and industry best practice
Issue vehicle crossing certificates of compliance following successful completion Stakeholder engagement
Work proactively with builders and developers to provide guidance and minimise rework
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery
Provide clear, practical technical advice and respond to customer enquiries
Compliance and monitoring
Identify and manage non-compliance, including supporting enforcement action where required
Ensure any damage to infrastructure is identified, recorded, and repaired
Maintain accurate records to support robust compliance processes

Qualifications

We’re looking for a practical, solutions-focused professional who can balance technical requirements with strong customer engagement.
You will have:
A Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred) or relevant Level 5 qualification
3–5 years’ experience in roading, infrastructure, or civil construction (including inspections/auditing)
Experience in network maintenance or civil construction (essential)
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Understanding of traffic management principles (qualification desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of infrastructure standards such as RITS (desirable)
Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills
Full, clean driver’s licence
