ABOUT LSC: Established by Congress in 1974, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is the country’s single largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans. LSC currently funds roughly 129 independent nonprofit legal aid organizations operating in every state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. LSC’s mission is to promote equal access to justice and provide grants for high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans.
JOB FUNCTION: The Project Manager is a member of LSC’s Executive Office and is responsible for managing and implementing Expanding Paths to Employment, LSC’s 12-month privately funded Arrest and Criminal Records Clearing, Licensure, and Employment Support initiative. The Project Manager will coordinate project activities, manage timelines and deliverables, conduct and synthesize research, support stakeholder engagement, and draft key written products. The position will coordinate development of the 50-State Opportunity Map, support an external Advisory Council, and help develop a strategic framework and future portfolio of pilot initiatives that expand access to education, occupational licensing, and employment for individuals with arrest and criminal records. The Project Manager reports to the Chief of Staff.

LSC has a competitive market-based salary structure that establishes a specific salary range for this position which has 10 steps. A new hire is typically hired at Step 1 and receives a step increase annually. In special circumstances, LSC may authorize a new hire to start at a higher stage based on a special business need or the significantly higher qualifications of the new employee. Employees hired after October 1st of any calendar year will receive their first step increase in January following their first full year of employment.
