About the Job
Senior Manager, Risk Management plays a critical role in strengthening the Group’s enterprise risk management framework and internal control environment to support sustainable business growth and regulatory compliance across all markets.
This role is responsible for driving the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of key enterprise risks, with a particular focus on operational, compliance, financial, and emerging risks relevant to the luxury jewellery retail and precious metals trading sector.
The role is based in Hong Kong and requires close collaboration with stakeholders at Group level as well as business markets, functional departments, and external parties to embed risk management practices into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.
Candidate with less experience will be considered as Manager, Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and prioritise key enterprise risks that may impact the achievement of the Group’s strategic objectives, including market expansion, reputation & brand protection, financial performance, retail operations, supply chain, and regulatory compliance.
Develop, maintain, and continuously update a comprehensive Group risk register, including risk ratings, mitigation plans, owners, and tracking of remediation status.
Conduct periodic risk assessments and control effectiveness reviews across business units and key processes; identify gaps and drive process improvements and change management initiatives to strengthen the overall risk posture.
Monitor emerging industry trends, macroeconomic developments, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors; provide timely risk insights and recommendations to senior management.
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) Compliance:
Develop, implement, and regularly review Group-wide AML/CFT policies, procedures, and training materials tailored to different business markets.
Oversee transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and suspicious transaction investigations; prepare high-quality regulatory reports and filings in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory expectations.
Support the coordination of AML compliance programmes across jurisdictions, including policy rollout, training delivery, and assurance reviews to ensure consistent application and effectiveness.
Crisis Management:
Develop, maintain, and regularly update crisis management plans and incident response protocols for the Group and key business units.
Design and coordinate simulation exercises and tabletop drills on major crisis scenarios to test preparedness and enhance response capabilities.
Support post-incident reviews, lessons-learned documentation, and continuous improvement of crisis governance and resilience measures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or relevant discipline
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal controls, compliance, or process improvement, with at least 5 years in managerial capacity.
Solid experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, or compliance in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
Experience in retail operations, luxury goods, or the Mainland China market would be a strong advantage.
Exposure to AML/CTF regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence at all levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Broad and deep knowledge of business processes, internal controls, and risk frameworks.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin). Fluency in Mandarin is highly advantageous.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Proactive, eager to learn, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
