Sr/LeadBI & Analytics Analyst
What this job involves:
As a BI & Analytics Analyst on our dedicated client team in Chicago, you'll be at the forefront of transforming complex data into strategic business solutions in an increasingly AI-enabled workplace. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way—for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees—and this role is central to that mission.
You'll design and deliver cutting-edge dashboards, reports, and analytics applications within a cloud-based data platform, working directly with data owners and business stakeholders to solve their toughest challenges. We embrace more innovative ways of working, and you'll leverage modern tools like Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, and Python, alongside emerging AI capabilities, to uncover hidden insights and deliver recommendations that drive real business impact.
As a trusted analytical partner, you'll bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business objectives, working in an environment where AI-enabled tools augment your analytical expertise. You'll learn to collaborate effectively with intelligent systems while applying critical thinking to ensure every solution you create moves the needle for our strategic client. This is an opportunity to make data work harder, develop skills for the future of analytics, and advance your career in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where human insight and AI capabilities work together.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage and process data using Databricks, SQL, and Python within cloud platforms, handling everything from retrieval and profiling to validation and migration
Design interactive dashboards in Power BI and Tableau that connect to cloud databases, published sources, and external APIs using modern ETL/ELT processes and Git version control
Create automated visualizations and reports using Python that deliver actionable insights tailored to specific business needs
Explore and apply AI-enabled tools to enhance analytical workflows, improve efficiency, and unlock new insights while maintaining data quality and business context
Partner directly with stakeholders and clients to understand their processes, challenges, and analytical requirements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives
Translate business questions into data analysis plans and execute independently or collaboratively, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
Drive cross-functional initiatives that convert analytical insights into business recommendations and measurable outcomes
Ensure data accuracy through peer review, automated testing, and validation using Alteryx and cloud-native tools
Collaborate with governance teams and data stewards to establish quality standards, monitoring procedures, and resolve critical data issues through root cause analysis
Required qualifications:
3+ years experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse) and advanced SQL including complex queries, stored procedures, and optimization
Expert proficiency in Tableau and Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and visualizations, plus expertise with Alteryx or similar ETL/data preparation tools
Strong Python programming skills for data analysis and automation, with experience in collaborative development and Git
Comfort working in AI-enabled environments and willingness to explore emerging tools that enhance analytical capabilities
3+ years business analysis or consulting experience in enterprise environments, preferably in commercial real estate, construction management, or related fields
Proven ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and deliver presentations to senior management and external clients
Strong project management skills leading cross-functional analytics initiatives with understanding of modern data architecture and cloud workflows
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related quantitative field
Preferred qualifications:
Strong understanding of finance and accounting operations, financial analysis and modeling, and forecasting and budgeting processes
Advanced experience with Databricks cloud platform and Python for building scalable data solutions and analytics workflows
Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics tools and experience applying them to enhance data analysis, automation, or decision-making processes
Experience with SharePoint, Power Platform, or similar collaboration tools
Background in commercial real estate, construction management, or related industries
Experience working in fast-paced, remote-friendly environments managing multiple concurrent projects with exceptional attention to detail
