The Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, upgrading, and installation of equipment in high-voltage substations. This includes reading and interpreting drawings, inspecting electrical systems, and providing leadership and training to Electrician Apprentices.
Candidates must have a valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate and a minimum of 5 years of experience, including 2 years in substations. Knowledge of the Electrical Utility Code and safety regulations is essential, along with the ability to work in adverse conditions and at heights.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the role of Journeyperson Electrician is to perform maintenance, upgrading and installation of equipment in 13.8kV to 500 kV substations. Under this role the Journeyperson Electrician reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician is also responsible for planning layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician inspects electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects and to ensure compliance with codes. This is a senior role which requires performance evaluation, coaching mentoring and training of Electrician Apprentices.
