Perform service, maintenance, and repair on commercial and industrial chiller systems globally, specifically for data centers. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues and conducting system commissioning and performance checks.
Requirements
Requires 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience with specific expertise in centrifugal, screw, or scroll chillers from major OEMs. An EPA Universal Certification and a valid driver's license are mandatory.
Ready to take your HVAC career nationwide? Join a powerhouse team building and servicing mission-critical data centers for the biggest names in tech — with top pay, travel stipends, premium benefits, and a potential sign-on bonus based on your experience. If you’ve got the expertise, we’ve got the opportunity.
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Chiller Service Technician to join our team, supporting customers across the United States. This role is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional specializing in large-tonnage chiller systems, including centrifugal, screw and scroll chillers, with strong OEM experience.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing, diagnosing, and repairing chillers from leading manufacturers such as LG, Johnson Controls / York, Trane, Daikin and Carrier.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To succeed in this role, you will need your own vehicle. Air Global Service team will not be providing a work vehicle.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on commercial and industrial chiller systems
Diagnose and repair centrifugal, screw, scroll, and absorption chillers
Work on systems from LG, Trane, York, JCI, and Daikin
Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals
Conduct start-ups, commissioning, and system performance checks
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components
Support central plant operations, including cooling towers and pumps
Provide recommendations for system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance

Hands-on experience with at least one of the following OEMs (chillers): LG, Johnson Controls (York), Trane, Daikin, Carrier
Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, controls, and electrical systems

Preferred
Direct experience working on LG chillers preferred
OEM factory training or certifications (LG, Johnson Controls / York, Trane, Daikin, Carrier)
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS / BMS)
Knowledge of VFDs, controls systems, and energy optimization
Experience working in data centers and/or large commercial facilities
Up-to-date passport
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
This role is primarily field-based and physically active. Chiller Technicians can expect to spend the majority of their time on their feet, walking, standing, climbing ladders, bending, crouching, or working in tight and confined spaces. Extended periods of physical activity are common while diagnosing and repairing equipment at customer job sites.
While a small portion of time (approximately 15%) may be spent in an office setting completing reports or administrative tasks at a computer, most responsibilities require hands-on work with tools and equipment. Technicians must regularly lift and move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, sometimes in challenging environments.
Clear and effective communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors is essential, both in person and electronically. Individuals must also be capable of reviewing their work for accuracy and making necessary adjustments in the field.
This position involves frequent exposure to outdoor conditions and varying environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and active construction sites. Noise levels may range from low to high depending on the job location.
