Job Profile Summary
This role is accountable for the technical output, staffing, development, and performance of a small, high-impact team (typically 4-8 direct reports) delivering end-to-end electrical engineering solutions. Working under general direction from senior engineering leadership, the manager sets team priorities, allocates engineering resources across competing operational demands, and personally engages in technical decision-making on the most complex or highest-risk problems. The manager partners across a diverse set of technical and operational stakeholders, ensuring the team's engineering judgment is applied consistently across the supporting disciplines that surround a successful integration effort.
Responsibilities
Manage, coach, and develop a team of Electrical Engineers, including hiring, performance reviews, career development planning, and day-to-day workload management
Set team priorities and allocate engineering resources across competing operational, maintenance, and integration demands
Serve as the primary point of escalation for technical disagreements, resourcing conflicts, and cross-functional coordination issues affecting the team
Build technical bench strength on the team through mentorship, delegation, and targeted skill development, including in AI-enabled engineering tools
Represent the team's capacity, capabilities, and constraints to senior engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Technical & Engineering Oversight
Provide technical direction and review for the team's electrical engineering solutions spanning power distribution, motor/generator systems, instrumentation, and controls, along with the integration challenges that bridge these domains
Personally engage in the most complex or highest-risk technical problems, independently determining approaches where the team requires additional depth or judgment
Interface with multiple stakeholder groups-including operations, manufacturing, test, and external partners-to align on requirements, technical direction, and solutions at the team and program level
Ensure the team's engineering input across supporting disciplines (safety and failure-effects analysis, systems engineering, configuration management, quality, work-instruction authoring, work scheduling, technical design/drafting, and process development) meets organizational standards
Oversee troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on electrical and electromechanical systems performed by the team, and validate recommended corrective actions
Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance programs for electrical systems are executed, including critical spare parts planning
Ensure the team properly configures and supports basic networking infrastructure tied to electrical/controls systems
Champion and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), de-energization, and other safe-work practices across the team's design and execution work
Ensure electrical systems designed for hazardous (classified) locations meet applicable codes and standards
Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering tools across the team to improve analysis, documentation, and design efficiency
Ensure the team documents designs, analyses, and decisions to support traceability and configuration control
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership of engineering work
2+ years of experience directly managing, leading, or formally mentoring engineers (people management, technical lead, or equivalent leadership experience)

Functional knowledge of motors, generators, and facility power systems
Experience with instrumentation and controls, including hardware such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Hands-on experience with preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
