The opportunity
Reporting to the Group Manager Risk & Compliance, the Principal Risk & Compliance will provide hands on support to the Company’s Enterprise Risk and Assurance program with a primary focus on risk interfacing with all departments across the business.
This role is offered on a maximum term (12 months) full-time arrangement and is based at our West Perth office, just next to the City West train station.
Key responsibilities
Providing assistance with risk development, control design and risk treatment plans.
Driving the annual update of the risk framework and providing recommendations for continual improvement.
Preparing data analysis and developing reports for inclusion in regular reporting processes.
Monitoring the external environment for emerging risk and proactively report.
Providing support to facilitate delivery of half yearly department compliance performance reporting for the Executive and Audit and Risk Committee.
Conduct independent compliance related investigations and report on findings.
Management and of internal audit plan and coordinate external consultants.
Assist in the gathering of information to support broker placement of the annual insurance programme and management of key major project insurances for principal controlled programs.
Initiating continuous improvement projects within the department and across the business.
Facilitating risk workshops as and when required.
Provide assistance with periodic leadership and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.
About you
Tertiary qualified in Risk Management is highly regarded or any other relevant discipline (eg: finance, engineering, commerce, law) will be considered.
A minimum of 7-10 years operational risk related experience.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop strong working relationships across all areas of the business, including the board of directors.
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to deliver a consistently high standard of work.
A self-starter and willing to “roll up sleeves” when needed.
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products.
