JOB SUMMARY
TerraForm Power is seeking an experienced Manager, Project Management to lead the planning and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery energy storage facilities. Reporting to the Director, Project Management, this advanced individual contributor role is responsible for independently managing complex projects from late-stage development through commercial operation while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
The successful candidate will serve as a key interface between internal stakeholders, engineering and construction partners, equipment suppliers, consultants, and operations teams. This role requires strong project leadership, commercial acumen, risk management capabilities, and the ability to influence outcomes across cross-functional teams. The position has no direct reports but may provide guidance and direction to project teams, contractors, and consultants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from late-stage development through commercial operation (COD).
Develop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, forecasts, and reporting requirements across multiple concurrent projects.
Coordinate and oversee EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and other third-party service providers to ensure successful project delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, and key project stakeholders throughout project execution.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including safety, commercial, technical, environmental, regulatory, and schedule-related risks.
Monitor project controls, including cost management, schedule performance, change management, forecasting, and risk tracking.
Review and manage project contracts, purchase orders, change orders, claims, and vendor performance in coordination with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Environmental, Real Estate, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to support effective project execution and seamless transitions between project phases.
Lead project meetings and provide timely reporting on project status, key risks, budget performance, schedule impacts, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
Manage project commissioning, turnover activities, warranty administration, and the successful handoff of projects to Operations.
Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety by ensuring contractors, subcontractors, and project personnel comply with TerraForm Power's Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies, procedures, and standards.
Support project due diligence activities related to acquisitions, repowerings, and strategic growth initiatives, as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, project delivery standards, governance processes, and lessons-learned programs.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Typically 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management, engineering, construction management, or infrastructure development, including significant experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Strong understanding of EPC contract structures, vendor management, project controls, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
Experience overseeing engineering, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
Working knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage systems.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, risks, and contractor performance.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, project partners, and external stakeholders.
Experience with permitting, environmental compliance, and interconnection processes is preferred.
Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or equivalent platforms.
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
Ability to travel approximately 25%, depending on project requirements.
