Role Summary
The Lecturer: Academic Development (AU Course Development) will play a key role in advancing learning and teaching excellence across Adelaide University. Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff, you will contribute to the University's strategic learning and teaching priorities by providing expertise and promoting knowledge and skills to underpin effective practice in curriculum design, assessment and evaluation, blended and digital learning, academic and professional literacies, and the scholarship of learning and teaching.
These fixed-term positions have been established to support the development of course content for programs within Adelaide University's new curriculum. The work associated with this project is expected to be completed within the anticipated contract period, aligning with the University's curriculum development priorities and implementation timeline.
Work that matters
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development and enhancement of engaging, inclusive and evidence-informed educational experiences that foster student success. A key focus is partnering with academic staff to strengthen program curriculum through a balanced approach to contemporary pedagogy and technology-enabled teaching. Responsibilities include reviewing and renewing existing curriculum, developing new course offerings, and supporting the implementation of programs within Adelaide University's new curriculum.
Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff across the University, you will help shape the future of learning and teaching at Adelaide University. The role provides expert advice and scholarly leadership across a broad range of learning and teaching initiatives, supporting the design and delivery of innovative, inclusive and technology-enabled education across multiple disciplines.
The team
Reporting to the Associate Director: Curriculum, this role sits within Teaching and Learning Innovation (TLI) in the DVC-Academic portfolio. You will work closely with Colleges, AU Online and Pathways to support strategic learning and teaching priorities and drive continuous improvement in educational practice.
Teaching and Learning Innovation is responsible for driving educational excellence across Adelaide University by partnering with Colleges, AU Online and Pathways to deliver strategic learning and teaching initiatives. The team provides leadership in curriculum design, educational innovation, digital learning, academic development and quality enhancement, supporting staff to create engaging and contemporary learning experiences that meet the needs of today's learners.

Qualifications
A doctoral qualification and/or equivalent experience related to teaching and learning in higher education.
Essential Experience
Demonstrated experience in the design and development of curriculum that engages diverse cohorts of learners for on campus, blended and online learning contexts.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with a team orientation.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and learning and teaching in higher education.
Understanding of theories and practices of learning and teaching in higher education and demonstrated scholarship in these areas, with a particular emphasis on the use of technologies to support student learning.
Demonstrated ability to work strategically with a wide variety of College (or faculty) based staff and discipline areas within university structures, policies and processes to support university priorities and strategies.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills appropriate to working effectively in a range of contexts and settings with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Experience with and capacity to manage multiple concurrent learning and teaching projects.
Demonstrated capacity to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and teaching in higher education.
Demonstrated research or professional experience in an area of education specialisation, such as academic and professional literacies; assessment; technology enhanced learning; evaluation methodologies; quality assurance; learning analytics or work integrated learning, and ability to actively contribute to TLI’s research in these areas.
Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, equity and social justice within a tertiary education context.
Desirable Experience
Qualifications and experience in Higher Education, specifically Curriculum and Education Studies, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience in implementing project management methodologies and documentation processes in the education context.
