The team
This role forms part of a multi-disciplinary team led by the Chair in GeoEnergy, connecting academic experts across the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences and the School of Chemical Engineering. Adelaide University boasts one of Australia’s best research and teaching teams in the field of GeoEnergy, with a focus on fundamental and applied science and engineering research. The University and bp have signed a AUS$10 million agreement that supports GeoEnergy research, education and outreach activities into the geological storage of hydrogen and carbon dioxide. An important component of this collaboration is the translation of research into learning materials for education and broader science communication outreach projects. A key audience is primary and secondary school students, to inspire them to learn more about the geology, environment and resources of South Australia, as well as to inspire engagement with broader GeoEnergy contributions to a net zero emissions future.
