Requirements
Candidates must possess relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in records management, archives, or information governance. Proven expertise in legislative compliance, risk management, and leadership of professional teams is essential for this role.
The Library Coordinator (Information Management) provides strategic leadership for information governance, across records management, archives and research outputs across Flinders University. The role drives compliance, service innovation, reporting and the development of sustainable information management frameworks that support the University's research, teaching and governance objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:
Leading the University's research output, records management, archives and information governance services, ensuring accurate recording and effective stewardship, preservation and lifecycle management of institutional information assets.
Providing strategic advice and leadership on compliance, legislative obligations, information governance and risk management, while driving best-practice information management and university-wide records compliance through effective stakeholder engagement, communication and influence.
Providing oversight of research output management processes, ensuring the integrity and validation of research outputs and supporting the provision of accurate reporting.
Leading and developing a high-performing professional team, building capability, managing performance and fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Overseeing the development of policies, frameworks and systems that enhance the accessibility, discoverability and management of University records, archives and research information.
This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan of Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 by leading information governance, records and archives services that strengthen compliance, support high-quality research outcomes and enable informed decision-making across the University. Through a commitment to Integrity and Innovation, the role ensures the responsible stewardship of information assets while supporting Flinders' long-term research, teaching and institutional goals.
About You
You are a strategic and collaborative information management leader with extensive experience in records management, archives and information governance and/or research output oversight. You bring a strong understanding of compliance and risk, proven people leadership skills, and highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, enabling you to influence outcomes and drive university-wide records and research compliance across a complex organisation.
To be successful in this role, you will also bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in records management, archives, information governance, research information management or a related discipline.
Demonstrated success leading professional teams, including workforce planning, capability development, performance management and the delivery of high-quality services and outcomes.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide expert advice, develop frameworks and lead organisational change in compliance-focused environments.
Proven expertise in legislative and regulatory compliance, information governance and risk management, with an understanding of research information management and the stewardship of institutional knowledge and research outputs.
