Responsibilities
The Finance Officer supports financial services across SA and NT operations by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Key duties include processing financial transactions, maintaining general ledger integrity, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure policy compliance.
Requirements
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within a large, complex environment. Strong organizational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and use financial systems.
The Finance Officer, Rural and Remote Health plays an important role in supporting the delivery of financial services across SA and NT operations within a geographically dispersed team environment. Working closely with budget holders, the Central Finance Team and key stakeholders, you will assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with University policies. This is a collaborative and varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with management accounting, building strong relationships and contributing to effective financial decision-making.
Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial reports to enable informed decision-making
Provide accurate financial information and maintain general ledger integrity, including resolving discrepancies
Process financial transactions such as purchase orders, invoicing, payments and reconciliations in line with policy
Collaborate with stakeholders and provide guidance and support on financial systems and processes

About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach. You bring experience in financial administration, reporting and systems, and are confident working with a range of stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely outcomes. With the ability to manage competing priorities and exercise sound judgement, you contribute positively to team outcomes and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated experience in preparing financial reports, budgets and forecasts, with strong attention to detail
Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
Experience working with financial systems and interpreting policies within a large, complex environment

Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.
