Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Group Manager (Senior Vice President)
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned, technically deep, and strategically minded leader to drive one of the most impactful analytics functions within our US Consumer Cards business. This role sits at the intersection of advanced data science, model governance, financial intelligence, and Generative AI — with end-to-end accountability across high-visibility initiatives that shape business strategy, regulatory standing, and customer outcomes at scale.
You will lead a high-performing, multi-geography team, influence senior stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Technology, and deliver outcomes spanning revenue growth, expense savings, compliance transformation, and enterprise AI innovation.
What You'll Own
1. Existing Customer Analytics & Campaign Modeling Lead end-to-end modeling for existing customer strategies powering large-scale direct mail and digital campaigns — core growth levers embedded in the operating plan that translate analytical rigor into measurable business performance.
2. Model Risk & Regulatory Compliance Own a firm-wide model risk remediation program covering a large portfolio of models. A board- and regulator-facing priority requiring continuous senior ownership, credit bureau attribute remediation, and full regulatory compliance.
3. Financial Forecasting & Reserve Modeling Develop next-generation financial models feeding directly into multi-year strategic plans and mid-year forecasts. Your work will reduce reserve volatility, sharpen financial controls accuracy, and inform CFO-level planning decisions.
4. Generative AI Innovation Lead the development of a GenAI-powered customer communication model, positioning the team at the forefront of the firm's enterprise AI transformation agenda.
Responsibilities
Analytics & Model Leadership
Lead and direct distributed teams of data scientists and analytics professionals across geographies — covering performance management, hiring, development, and budget oversight
Own the design, development, and governance of predictive models and ML solutions that inform business strategy and financial planning
Drive model risk remediation, including resolution of regulatory findings, credit bureau attribute gaps, and model redevelopment in compliance with Model Risk Policy
Develop advanced financial forecasting models with vintage-level granularity to support accurate multi-year product-level planning
Build and enhance reserve models that improve financial controls accuracy and reduce volatility
Leverage large, complex internal and external datasets using advanced statistical techniques, ML algorithms, and visualization tools to drive strategic decisions
Serve as Model Sponsor Delegate — accountable for formal model governance, sign-off, and oversight across a large model portfolio
AI Innovation & Solution Development
Drive AI-led analytics solutions for key business problems — including Personalized Next Best Action decisioning engines, Campaign Analytics Platforms, and Conversational & Contextual Business Insights. Own the full AI solution lifecycle from concept to production
Partner with stakeholders across business and technology functions to architect, prototype, and deploy scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact
Collaborate directly with business and technology teams to jointly develop high-impact AI solutions, combining technical expertise with business acumen to address complex, cross-functional challenges
Conceptualize AI-powered automation and tools that accelerate internal analytics workflows and drive productivity — creating innovative solutions that streamline processes and enhance analytical capabilities across the organization
Lead the evolution of AI-enhanced modeling techniques to accelerate development cycles and improve analytical precision
AI Governance & Controls
Operationalize AI governance standards ensuring model explainability, responsible deployment, regulatory compliance, and full adherence to Model Risk Management guidelines
Ensure teams partner with and follow control processes across Information Security, Platform Security, and Data Security while executing on next-generation re-engineering of business, data, and AI processes
Engage and influence multiple Managing Director–level stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Technology, Model Risk Management, Fair Lending, and Legal
Ensure all analytical work adheres to applicable laws, regulations, fair lending obligations, and internal policy; proactively escalate and manage risk with full transparency
Strategy, Partnerships & Team Building
Work in partnership with business stakeholders and Analytics teams to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact AI solutions — building trusted partnerships that enable rapid alignment, efficient resource deployment, and direct impact on critical business needs
Establish and lead a specialized team equipped to deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions; recruit top talent, foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, and drive non-linear outcomes
Deliver value beyond arbitrage by establishing productivity and innovation measurement frameworks that track outcomes across business deliverables and team performance — aligned with senior leadership priorities
Qualifications
Experience & Expertise
10+ years in data science, quantitative analytics, or financial modeling within financial services
Expertise in credit card rewards economics, customer behavior modeling, or a related domain at the intersection of financial modeling and product strategy
Proven track record in model risk management, regulatory remediation, or formal model governance
Deep experience in financial forecasting, reserve modeling, or FP&A-aligned analytics
