Our Story & Purpose:
Vancity Sustainable Wealth Management
With over $8.5B in AUA, Vancity’s Sustainable Wealth Management operates as a full- service Canadian wealth management division, bringing together in-house product development, investment management, financial planning, insurance, advisory, and member-facing wealth solutions into an integrated member-focused platform. The wealth business serves members across multiple delivery channels, including branch-based advisors, specialized wealth teams, discretionary portfolio management, digital and remote engagement, and strategic partnerships across retail, business and commercial banking. Vancity delivers holistic values-aligned advice that supports members at every stage of their financial lives while advancing sustainable investing, long-term financial resilience, and the organization’s broader community impact objectives.
This is a unique opportunity to lead one of Canada’s most purpose-driven wealth management businesses. As Head (SVP), Sustainable Wealth Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of wealth advice and investment solutions for our members. You will have the opportunity to influence enterprise strategy, lead a talented team of professionals, and build innovative wealth solutions that create both financial prosperity and positive social impact.
Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As the Head (SVP), Sustainable Wealth Management, you will set the strategic direction and drive performance of Vancity’s Wealth Management division, including oversight of investment management and wealth product offerings. You will lead enterprise-wide growth initiatives, champion a member-centric and advice-based model, and ensure strong financial outcomes while advancing sustainable and community-focused wealth solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced executive leader with a strong track record in transforming and scaling multi-channel wealth businesses, who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about delivering long-term member value.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the EVP, Inclusive Banking and Sustainable Wealth. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:
Developing a long-term vision for Sustainable Wealth Management aligned with Vancity’s broader strategic objectives
Defining and executing a multi-year wealth strategy to drive market share growth, revenue performance, and service excellence across all delivery channels
Accountable for the overall P&L and financial performance of the wealth management division
Driving enterprise wealth sales and productivity strategies through advice-based models and data-driven insights
Leveraging AI, CRM tools, and analytics to deepen member relationships and optimize outcomes
Building and strengthening strategic partnerships across community and industry networks
Partnering across Retail, Business and Commercial Banking, and enterprise teams to deliver integrated member solutions
Building leadership capability, succession pipelines, and organizational capacity to support long-term growth and sustainability
Ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks across all wealth activities
Identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities to accelerate growth
Leading the evolution of Vancity’s wealth value proposition to meet changing member needs and market dynamics
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in wealth and investment management
Extensive experience leading large, multi-channel wealth businesses within a banking or credit union environment
Proven track record of driving growth and sustained financial performance
Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, including digital enablement and operating model redesign
Deep knowledge of investment products, financial planning, insurance, and regulatory frameworks
Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level and lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
Industry designations such as CFP, CIM, or CFA considered an asset
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
Experience integrating digital wealth platforms and modern service delivery models
Strong exposure to sustainable investing and ESG-focused strategies
Established network within the Canadian wealth and investment ecosystem
You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:
Strategic Leader – You bring a long-term vision and translate strategy into impactful execution across the enterprise.
Collaborative Influencer – You build strong partnerships and align diverse stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
Member-Centric – You are deeply committed to delivering exceptional, values-driven experiences for members.
Transformational Thinker – You embrace innovation and continuously evolve business models to stay ahead of industry change.
We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.
What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $242,000 to $299,250 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
