Full job description
ABOUT EARTHDAILY EarthDaily is revolutionizing the way we understand and monitor our planet. Through cutting-edge Earth Observation (EO) technology and geospatial analytics, we provide unparalleled insights for industries ranging from agriculture to mining, insurance, and government intelligence. Our mission is to build the world’s most advanced change detection system to capture, analyze, and interpret global shifts in near real-time.
OUR CREW Our global, distributed team represents a variety of business lines and is made up of business development, sales, marketing and support professionals, data scientists, software engineers, project managers and finance, HR, and IT professionals. We are currently looking for an experienced, Vancouver-based FP&A Manager to join our crew!
READY TO LAUNCH? Do you want to join the Finance team of one of the most exciting space companies at the forefront of global change detection/change monitoring? Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and business leaders across all lines of business and regions, the FP&A Manager will help build and mature the Company’s planning, forecasting, management reporting, and business-partnering capabilities as the organization scales. This is a Vancouver-based hybrid position, with some in-office work required. Candidates must have full-time availability during the business hours of 9am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
Own and continuously improve the Company’s integrated financial model, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, capex, headcount, cash flow, balance sheet, and liquidity planning.
Lead the consolidated annual budget process, coordinating assumptions, timelines, inputs, and review cycles with all lines of business and departments.
Manage monthly and quarterly forecasting, including forecast-to-actual bridges, risk and opportunity tracking, and clear commentary on key business drivers.
Build driver-based forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions, resource allocation, financing, M&A, hiring, pricing, and investment prioritization.
Serve as a finance power user and administrator for Workday Adaptive Insights, including model maintenance, planning workflows, reporting, dashboards, data integrity, and user support.
Partner closely with Accounting to ensure consistency between accounting policies and their application in financial models, forecasts, and budgets
Review key accounting policies on a quarterly basis and incorporate any changes into planning assumptions and reporting outputs
Prepare monthly and weekly management reporting packages for leadership, including KPIs, variance analysis, trend reporting, risks, opportunities, and management commentary.
Prepare Board-ready monthly and quarterly reporting materials that distill complex financial and operational data into clear, decision-useful narratives.
Support investor, lender, and due diligence reporting with accurate financial analysis, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Partner with Accounting during month-end and quarter-end close to validate actual results, explain variances, review accruals, and ensure consistency between management reporting and financial statements.
Support audit requests including goodwill impairment models and going concern forecast, investor relations materials, project reporting, and special project presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare scenario, sensitivity, and ad-hoc analyses to support corporate priorities and management decision-making.
Business Partnering & Performance Management
Partner with department heads and business leaders to develop budgets, rolling forecasts, KPIs, and operating plans.
Support budget owners in understanding budget-to-actual performance, forecast risks, and resource trade-offs.
Translate operational activity into financial outcomes and provide practical recommendations to improve performance, accountability, and forecast accuracy.
Help build discipline around spend, headcount, project costs, pipeline, backlog, margins, and operating metrics.
IPO Readiness
Prepare for SEC reporting processes in the event of an IPO transaction (10-K, 10-Q, MD&A)
Partner with Investor Relations on preparing earnings materials, guidance, and external messaging
Establish disciplined reporting cadence aligned with public company timelines
Define and govern KPIs used in external reporting
Support SOX compliance through documentation and control design of FP&A processes
Ensure data integrity and reconciliation across systems used for external reporting
Contribute to IPO readiness, including S-1 support and reporting infrastructure
Corporate Finance & Strategic Initiatives
Support M&A, valuation, financing, and strategic transaction analysis as needed.
Provide due diligence support, including financial analysis, data-room materials, reconciliations, and management presentation support.
Contribute to ad-hoc management and Board presentations, including analysis of strategic alternatives, capital allocation, and investment priorities.
Business Operations, Systems & Process Improvement
Support pricing, costing, project economics, and grant proposal analysis.
Improve integrations and reporting between NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Insights, Excel-based models, and other finance or operational systems.
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting, reduce manual work, improve data integrity, and strengthen planning controls.
PREPARE FOR IMPACT! Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role will own core planning models, strengthen monthly and quarterly reporting, support Board, investor, lender, and due diligence materials, and translate operational drivers into clear financial insight for decision-making. The FP&A Manager will also partner closely with Accounting during close cycles to ensure consistency between forecasted and actual results and will play a key role in improving systems, processes, reporting discipline, and forecast accuracy.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance operator who can move between detailed modeling, practical business partnering, and executive-level communication. They will be comfortable building structure in a scaling environment, asking good questions, improving processes, and producing clear analysis under tight timelines.
