Full job description
Company Description
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
Job Description
Join a dynamic team at a pivotal moment of transformation, where significant investment in email marketing is creating exciting opportunities to innovate, influence strategy, and help amplify the voice of Marie Curie. You'll have a direct impact on achieving our mission while working in a collaborative, agile environment that values fresh ideas and empowers people to make things happen.
Marie Curie's Digital Marketing team is at the heart of supporter engagement, delivering intelligent, data-led campaigns that drive fundraising, awareness, and long-term supporter relationships. As part of a high-performing, collaborative team, you'll work alongside specialists across fundraising, content, design, CRM, and digital marketing to maximise the impact of one of the charity's most important communication channels
As Email Marketing Executive, you'll help bring Marie Curie's campaigns to life across email, SMS, and WhatsApp. Every message you help create will play a part in engaging supporters, raising vital funds, increasing awareness, and helping more people access Marie Curie's services. From building campaigns and analysing performance to supporting automated journeys, you'll gain hands-on experience while making a genuine difference.
Your Impact:
Support the planning, build, and delivery of engaging email marketing campaigns across fundraising, campaigning, retail, and information programmes.
Build and test emails within DotDigital, ensuring excellent quality, accessibility, and mobile-first design.
Maintain and update the email communications calendar, helping to keep campaigns on track.
Develop creative and content briefs in collaboration with creative, digital, and fundraising teams.
Support SMS and WhatsApp campaign delivery as Marie Curie's owned channels continue to grow.
Assist with audience segmentation, personalisation, and dynamic content to improve supporter engagement.
Help build and maintain automated supporter journeys, including welcome and thank-you programmes.
Analyse campaign performance, support A/B testing, and identify opportunities to improve results.
Build positive relationships with stakeholders across the charity and provide support on email marketing activity.
Key Requirements:
Some previous experience in email marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field through employment, education, volunteering, or personal projects.
A genuine interest in digital marketing and a desire to build a career in email marketing.
Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Analytical mindset with a curiosity about campaign performance and optimisation.
Confident working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Awareness of email marketing platforms such as DotDigital, Mailchimp, or similar systems.
Understanding of GDPR, consent, or digital marketing best practice would be beneficial.
As part of your online application, you will be asked for a CV and supplementary details. Please review both the advert and job description and outline your most relevant skills, experience and knowledge for the role.
Close date for applications: 23 August 2026. We encourage early applications as we may close the job advert sooner after receiving a sufficient number of applications.
Salary: £28,274 (+ £3,500 London Weighting Allowance if applicable)
Contract: Permanent, full-time (35h per week)
Location: Home-based (UK) or hybrid in London (2 days a week from our Embassy Gardens office)
