The Loss Mitigation Closer manages post-decision mortgage processes, including finalizing loan modifications and workout solutions. They act as a liaison between borrowers and investors to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in mortgage servicing or loss mitigation. A high school diploma is required, while an associate or bachelor degree is preferred.
The Loss Mitigation Closer is responsible for managing the post-decision processes of mortgage loss mitigation solutions. This includes ensuring timely and accurate execution of final loan modifications, repayment plans, short sales, deeds-in-lieu, and other workout solutions. The specialist acts as a liaison between borrowers, investors, and internal departments to ensure compliance with investor, regulatory, and company requirements.
Must Have Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.• 2+ years of experience in mortgage servicing or loss mitigation, preferably in a back-end or post-decision role.• Strong understanding of mortgage loss mitigation options and investor/insurer guidelines.• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.• Proficient in loan servicing systems (e.g., MSP, LoanServ) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
