Full job description
Purpose. Performance. People.
Joining CPP Investments means joining one of the world’s most admired and respected institutional investors to drive a single mandate: to deliver strong, sustainable returns for generations of Canadians.
With a long-term horizon and global reach, we deploy capital at scale across public and private markets. Our size, stability, and disciplined investment philosophy allow us to pursue complex opportunities and build enduring partnerships worldwide.
For our people, this means meaningful work with tangible impact, real opportunity, and collaboration with exceptional colleagues who value partnership and performance. Here, you’ll contribute to outcomes that matter alongside team members committed to excellence and shared success.
The Role
As Manager, Investment Structure Management, you will provide investment structuring expertise and operational leadership to support CPP Investments’ private market investments throughout the investment lifecycle. Reporting to the Director, Investment Structure Management, you will partner with investment teams, Legal, Technology & Operations, and Risk to establish and maintain investment structures, manage operational risk, and support legal entity governance and compliance. You will also help drive continuous process improvements that enhance the efficiency and scalability of Investment Structure Management.
The Team
Investment Structure Management (ISM) partners with investment teams and corporate functions to establish, manage, and govern the legal entity structures that support CPP Investments’ global private market investments. The team provides investment structuring expertise throughout the investment lifecycle while promoting operational excellence, governance, and effective risk management.
Working closely with Investment Departments, Legal, Technology & Operations, Risk, and other corporate partners, the team supports the successful execution and ongoing management of investment structures while continuously improving processes and operating models to meet the organization’s evolving needs.
Accountabilities
Provide subject matter expertise to support the structuring, execution, and ongoing maintenance of private market investments, restructurings, and exits throughout the investment lifecycle.
Coordinate the establishment of legal entities and work with internal partners to ensure governance, legal, and operational requirements are effectively managed.
Manage transaction documentation, timelines, and cross-functional activities to support the timely execution of investment transactions.
Oversee the ongoing operational management of legal entities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain policies, procedures, and operational documentation while identifying opportunities to strengthen governance, controls, and risk management.
Build strong partnerships with investment teams and corporate stakeholders to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support consistent investment structuring practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance technology adoption, and strengthen operational effectiveness.
What You Bring
Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience supporting investment operations, finance, consulting, project management, legal entities, or investment structuring activities.
Professional designation such as CFA, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
Experience with low-code/no-code workflow platforms, such as Mendix, Python, Tableau, or similar technology tools is considered an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, drive process improvements, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
We provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.
Inclusion & Accessibility
CPP Investments is committed to equitable access to employment and building a workforce that reflects diverse talent and perspectives. If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
Attention: Protect Yourself from Fraud
