Context
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role is designed for an engineer who wants to step away from repetitive, siloed work and instead deliver on a diverse variety of projects with true end-to-end involvement.
Based in Whangarei you will be part of a supportive, highly collaborative culture where your technical growth is prioritised, and your ideas are valued.
Missions/Main Duties
Own and deliver structural design packages, creating calculations, specifications, and drawings for a wide variety of structural systems from concept to completion.
Coordinate and collaborate seamlessly with internal BG&E team members and externally with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Manage and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to an exceptionally high standard, backed by the full support and mentorship of our local and wider team.
Look beyond standard templates to provide innovative yet highly practical technical solutions for our clients.

A sound understanding of core engineering principles and a strong, practical working knowledge of NZ Standards and Codes.
A sharp attention to detail and the ability to focus on critical design elements while always remaining mindful of the big picture.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to translate complex engineering ideas into simple, clear concepts for clients and teams. You are skilled at building trusted relationships internally and externally.
A passionate, self-motivated approach to structural engineering and a strong commitment to your own personal and professional development.
What do we offer?
Flexible working arrangements to help achieve real work life balance.
Health and wellbeing support via a confidential Employee Assistance Program.
Competitive remuneration.
On-the-job coaching to help you be the best you can be, including leveraging BG&E’s global network of experts to help you realise your professional development goals to grow your career at BG&E.
