Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 4-10 years of experience and a PE license or the ability to obtain one. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience with water/wastewater collection and treatment systems are essential.
Full job description
Our engineers design and deliver reliable, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure that directly protects public health, supports community growth, and shapes the environments where we live and work.
As a Water/Wastewater Engineer joining our rapidly growing engineering group in Latham, NY, you will tackle diverse challenges across the Capital Region and north into the Adirondack Region. No two days are the same: one day you might be working with a small village of a few hundred residents, and the next, solving complex infrastructure challenges for cities of 100,000+.
From wastewater treatment, collection, and disposal to surface water sources, groundwater wells, drinking water treatment, storage, and distribution—plus collaborating on high-profile private development projects—you will gain unmatched technical exposure and leadership opportunities.
We are seeking an action-oriented and goal-driven engineer who thrives on solving tough problems, taking ownership, and pushing projects across the finish line.
Job Duties
Contributing to all phases of water/wastewater projects including the development of design concepts
Performing and reviewing detailed calculations, working within teams in a collaborative manner and mentoring junior staff
Overseeing design staff in, and contribution to, the production of effective and high-quality drawings and specifications
Supporting projects throughout construction as they progress to final closeout.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
4-10 years’ experience.
PE or the ability to obtain within 24 months.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Revit experience is a plus.
Familiarity with hydraulic/process modeling software is preferred.
Experience with water supply, treatment, storage and distribution systems; experience with wastewater collection, treatment and disposal systems; experience with various forms of treatment processes for both water supplies as well as wastewater treatment systems.
Experience with public works projects from planning and funding, design and entitlement, public bidding and construction administration, inspection and commissioning.
Ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, self-motivated with a strong desire to grow a career in the water/wastewater engineering field.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Team members across the organization.
