Full job description
The Project:
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role:
As a Safety Coordinator you will oversee and support all night shift operations to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety standards. This role is responsible for monitoring site activities, driving a proactive safety culture, and providing guidance to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project safety management plans, and company policies.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain safe work environments.
Lead incident management and reporting, including investigations and root cause analysis
Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to engage teams and reinforce critical safety messages.
Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and stakeholders to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate safety documentation, including risk assessments, permits, and shift reports.
About You:
You hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety as a minimum requirement, with a Diploma in WHS considered highly advantageous.
You bring proven experience in a similar safety role within civil construction - major infrastructure projects preferred.
You possess a strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management principles, and incident investigation processes.
You demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
You have a proactive approach to fostering a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
We Offer:
Your success is our success, and as an Alliance, we are committed to being an employer of choice in Adelaide. We pride ourselves on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where different perspectives and ideas are valued as crucial to our long-term success.
