Design civil site plans for residential, commercial, and public land development projects using Civil 3D technology. Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, preparing specifications, and assisting with zoning entitlements and construction administration.
Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a related field and an EIT certification. Ideal candidates have 2-8 years of professional experience in land development, though entry-level applicants are considered.
Timmons Group is currently seeking Civil Project Engineers at various levels to join our Land Development groups in our Richmond, VA office location. We have opportunities in our Residential, Commercial, and Public Land Development groups. Projects range from multi-family and mixed-use developments, market rate apartment communities, large scale industrial and distribution projects, residential neighborhood design to public land development projects like schools, jails, fire stations and parks.
We assist our clients with zoning entitlements, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration support. Our project engineers will typically work in a team of 2-3 design engineers and a project manager to bring our client’s vision to life. The complexity and fast paced nature of our client’s needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $77,000-$110,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
