The intern will support the design of structures, assemblies, and mechanisms while ensuring detailed drafting work meets ASME Y14.5 standards. They will also assist in hardware procurement, testing, and cross-functional coordination to mature designs.
Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or graduate degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and be at least a Sophomore by Summer 2027. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance.

Raytheon’s Advanced Airframes department focuses on leading-edge development programs. Mechanical engineers in this department support a variety of design spaces and some of the toughest challenges, often bringing whiteboard concepts to life.
Design of structures, assemblies, and some mechanisms
Detailed design and drafting work per ASME Y14.5
Support of development hardware procurement and testing
Management of suppliers/subcontractors
Cross-functional coordination to rapidly mature designs
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of Summer 2027.
Must be pursuing as bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
Experience with Windchill and configuration management

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
