Job's mission
As a Specialist, Purchasing, you will play a key role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of direct materials that support ASM's manufacturing operations and customer commitments. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will proactively manage material availability, drive supplier performance, and help resolve supply challenges in a fast-paced semiconductor environment. Your expertise will contribute to a resilient and efficient supply chain, enabling ASM to deliver innovative technologies that power the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
What you will be working on

Create, issue, confirm, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders to ensure accurate supply execution.
Monitor material deliveries and drive supplier performance to meet production schedules and business commitments.
Proactively engage suppliers to mitigate supply risks and support continuity of supply.
Coordinate supply activities during product transfer projects to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted material availability.
Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies and goods receipt issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Track and improve supplier on-time delivery (OTD) performance through effective supplier management.
Expedite material deliveries and work closely with suppliers to address critical supply gaps.
Implement and manage supply flexibility programs, including safety stock strategies and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) solutions.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that support long-term operational success.
Partner with planning, project management, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve material shortages and supply constraints.
Lead and participate in production, project, and supply chain meetings related to assigned commodities or projects.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing and enhancing purchasing processes and working methods.
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Experience managing direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP system.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
Knowledge of supply chain planning and material flow concepts.
Willingness to travel as required.
What sets you apart
Experience within the semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing industry.
Experience supporting product transfers, new product introductions, or manufacturing ramp activities.
Demonstrated success in improving supplier performance and delivery reliability.
Experience implementing inventory optimization and supplier flexibility programs, including safety stock and VMI.
Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing supply chains and supplier ecosystems.
Continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying and implementing process enhancements.
