The Surgical Technologist ensures safe operative procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting surgeons during procedures. They are also responsible for sterilization criteria, room turnover, and participating in departmental training and mentoring.
Candidates must have completed an accredited ORT program or have equivalent experience and hold a BLS certification. Registration with the State of Colorado is required, and national certification is expected within a specified timeframe after hire.
Posting Specifics
Level II Pay Range: $29.43 - $45.39/hour (depending on experience)
Level III Pay Range: $32.34 - $49.94/hour (depending on experience)

Shift Details: Full-time, 36 hours/week. 3x12 hour shifts/week. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Day shift. No call
Location: Operating Rooms - Good Samaritan Medical Center (Lafayette, Colorado)
This position could be filled as a Surgical Tech II or Surgical Tech III depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential Functions
Skills
Minimum Qualifications (Level II)
Colorado Surgical Technologists must be registered to practice as a Surgical Technologists with the State of Colorado.
Minimum Qualifications (Level III)
Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or:
Graduated from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam), or
Two years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years, or
Hired for on-the-job training in a rural hospital, or
International training equivalent and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Competent in Basic Procedures and 2 or more specialty areas such as (Ortho, Robotics, Neuro, CV, Trauma, Transplant, Re-implants) and/or facility case mix.
Able to take assigned call.
Must be in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
Colorado Surgical Technologists must be registered to practice as a Surgical Technologists with the State of Colorado.
Prior approval from the Surgical Services Director Council must be obtained before caregivers are moved into this role.
