Responsibilities
The Activities Assistant supports the Activities Director in providing therapeutic recreation programs for veteran residents, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. They are responsible for coordinating activity programs across departments and documenting patient participation and abilities.
Requirements
Candidates should have experience in activities programming, preferably within a long-term care or geriatric setting. The role requires the physical ability to turn, bend, and lift without restrictions, as well as strong communication and documentation skills.
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant.
Qualified candidates will help carry out the objective of the facility as part of total resident care and ensuring the protection of residents during these activities.
The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Activities Director and Activities Coordinator in providing approved therapeutic recreation programs for our veteran residents, including Alzheimer/dementia residents.
Job Duties: • Coordinate all activities programs with other departments • Assessing and documenting patients' abilities and participation in group activities
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience providing activities programming preferably in a long term care or adult geriatric setting. • Must possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift without restrictions. • Ability to read, write and communicate ideas.
