The Optical Technician is responsible for dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts based on prescriptions while maximizing retail sales. They provide a high-quality patient experience by recommending lenses and frames that meet medical and aesthetic needs.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with ABO and NCLE certifications preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in customer or patient interaction, preferably in an ophthalmic or medical office setting.

This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services offered.
