The Optical Technician is responsible for dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. They focus on maximizing retail sales while providing a high-quality medical support experience for patients.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for previous medical or ophthalmic experience and at least one year of customer interaction. ABO and NCLE certifications are preferred but not required.

An Optical Technician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients’ medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services offered.
