The Staff Steering Systems Engineer will lead the design, development, and vehicle integration of next-generation steering systems. This role involves managing technical requirements, functional safety, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal steering performance and manufacturability.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years of automotive experience, with a preference for EV platform exposure. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and a strong foundation in core engineering principles are required for this leadership role.
As a Staff Steering Systems Engineer, you will drive the design, development, and execution of next-generation steering systems. This position involves development, validation, and vehicle integration of steering systems into Ford Motor Company vehicles. You will bridge deep technical expertise in electro-mechanical hardware, chassis controls software, electrical and system-level architecture with rigorous engineering discipline to optimize steering performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability. Working across concept design, feasibility analysis, and full-vehicle validation, you will play a central role in delivering best-in-class steering and vehicle attributes for our next-generation portfolio.

This position is a leadership level 6 and ranges from $150,200-$283,500.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
