Requirements
Candidates must hold a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Strong experience in large infrastructure or rail projects, along with knowledge of BIM and configuration management principles, is required.
Full job description
Building a sustainable tomorrow
Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture has a strong track record of delivering major UK infrastructure projects on time and within budget. Since first partnering as BFK in 2010 to deliver key Crossrail contracts, the team has also worked together on the Silvertown Tunnel, HS2 Enabling Works (Fusion JV), the HS2 central Main Works Contract (EKFB), and is now delivering track infrastructure across the full HS2 route.
We are now recruiting for an Alliance Configuration Management Engineer to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project and represent us at alliance level. The Rail Systems Alliance structure is designed to manage interfaces, develop common ways of working and resolve any program conflicts with other parties. The alliance informs members how to work together on design, access, resources, and logistics to achieve shared goals for cost and schedule.
Your team
This role will be based at our project offices in London Euston.
Making Possible
The Alliance Configuration Management Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and assuring the configuration management framework across the Rail Systems Alliance. Working closely with alliance partners and stakeholders, you will ensure a consistent approach to configuration control, change management, and interface management across multiple contracts and disciplines.
This role is critical in ensuring that designs, approvals, and delivered assets remain aligned, traceable, and compliant throughout the asset lifecycle, supporting effective project delivery and governance across the alliance.
Configuration Identification: Define the alliance approach to identifying and maintaining configuration items, including track slab designs, materials and components. Establish common configuration baseline principles and ensure alignment between design documentation, BIM models and physical assets across alliance members.
Configuration Control (Change Management): Develop and agree common change control methods and governance arrangements across the alliance. Provide assurance that impacts to cost, schedule, safety and performance are appropriately assessed and that changes are reviewed, approved and documented before implementation.
Configuration Status Accounting: Define and oversee the configuration status accounting approach across alliance members, ensuring configuration records, registers and revision histories are maintained consistently, remain auditable and provide visibility of current configuration status.
Verification and Audit: Establish assurance requirements and support audits, inspections and quality reviews to confirm that approved configurations are being implemented correctly and remain compliant with HS2 standards and contractual requirements.
Information and Digital Management: Coordinate the integration of configuration management with BIM and digital engineering processes. Promote consistent control of documentation, models and asset information and support development of the Asset Information Model for handover.
Governance and Process Development: Develop, maintain and continuously improve alliance-wide configuration management procedures aligned with HS2 and Rail Systems Alliance requirements. Support governance forums, assurance activities and cross-contract issue resolution.
Support escalation and resolution of cross-contract configuration and interface issues.
Engage with HS2, delivery partners and assurance bodies to promote alignment on configuration management principles and practices.
Lead or support alliance-wide configuration management working groups and forums.

Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
Strong understanding of configuration management principles (e.g. ISO 10007).
Experience in large infrastructure or rail projects.

Experience with change con trol processes and systems integration.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

A wide range of family-friendly policies
Company car/car allowance/travel allowance
8 % matched pension contributions
Private healthcare
