The specialist provides essential life experiences, family support, and education to patients and families within the Emergency Department. They collaborate with healthcare providers and the community to promote growth and facilitate positive adjustment during the healthcare experience.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Child Life or a related field and have completed a Child Life Internship. Certification as a Child Life Specialist and BLS certification are required within specific timeframes after hire.
The Emergency Department Child Life Specialist is responsible for providing essential life experiences, family support & education to patients and families in the health care system. The Child Life Specialist collaborates with other health care providers, as well as the community, to promote growth and development and facilitate positive adjustment for patients and families throughout the health care experience.
