The LVN provides specialized emergency nursing care through patient-focused assessments and clinical interventions within the Emergency Department. They are responsible for executing critical procedures and maintaining strict adherence to safety policies and emergency protocols.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of vocational nursing with at least one year of clinical experience in a pediatric or ambulatory setting. A current Texas LVN license, BLS certification, and PALS certification are required.
The Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse functions in a high-intensity, collaborative practice alongside physicians, advanced practice providers (APP), and registered nurses within the Emergency Department setting. In this role, the nurse provides specialized emergency nursing care through patient-focused assessments, clinical interventions, and the execution of critical procedures as delegated by the healthcare team. They are responsible for skillfully and consistently performing clinical duties while maintaining strict adherence to established emergency protocols, safety policies, and procedural standards.
