The technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical equipment to maximize data center uptime. Key duties include performing routine rounds, monitoring building automation systems, and supervising third-party contractors.
Candidates must have at least two years of technical, military, or workplace experience in IT, electrical, or mechanical fields. Knowledge of industrial safety standards and data center infrastructure like UPS and HVAC systems is required.
About the role
The Critical Operations Technician(s) (COT) are Prime Data Center’s front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
The COT maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met.
Reports to: Critical Facilities Manager
Location: Onsite in data center located in north Dallas TX area
Available Shifts/Schedules:
This role is a non-exempt (hourly) position with eligibility for overtime. We are hiring technicians for our existing data center facility in Dallas TX. We are currently hiring for the following shift:
